My Dietitian Journey

Becoming a family dietitian was a natural path for me. After leaving my first career as a professional dancer, I became a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist in 2014. I practiced in clinical and public health settings until 2022 and now fully support my clients and families through my own practice. I am based in Northern Nevada (Carson City, Lake Tahoe, Reno) and I virtually serve people from all over.

I’m passionate about helping people overcome worries about food and nutrition. I love introducing new ways of thinking about health and wellness. My credentials are rooted in science, and my approach is practical and realistic. Family dynamics around food present real challenges for kids and adults; my approach is creative and realistic to fit the unique needs of each family.

My Approach

When you work with me, you get evidence-based, inclusive, and realistic strategies to enhance your family’s nutrition and relationship with food. In 2021, I added the Certified LEAP Therapist (CLT) credential to my practice.

Using the MRT (Mediator Release Test), I guide the LEAP protocol—a highly individualized food and chemical elimination diet. Through LEAP I’ve helped clients reduce IBS symptoms, migraines, chronic pain, overall inflammation, brain fog, and more. This helps you know what to include in your diet, not just what to eliminate.

My signature approach, Compassionate Nutrition™, is all about working toward competent eating and enjoying all foods.

It’s about building a healthy relationship with food for your entire family.

My Values

I care deeply about living an Earth-sustainable lifestyle and strive to help others do the same. My family values around food and lifestyle are built on a plant-forward, movement-based approach (though I don’t expect you to do the same).

Why Work with Me As Your Dietitian?

As a family dietitian (and Mom!), I know the importance of a balanced feeding/eating relationship. Feeding our families is about more than just food; it’s about love, connection, and building trust.

I want you to have the strength and energy to plan, prepare, and create meals for your family you know are beneficial. And when you face challenges, I will help you lean in with support, knowledge, and confidence.

Change is hard and takes time, perseverance, and patience. I believe in taking small, manageable steps rather than giant leaps. When you join me in a program, you’ll find a safe, nurturing space to heal, grow, and thrive.

DIETITIAN CREDENTIALS

I hold degrees in biological sciences, nutritional sciences, and dietetics. I graduated from Western Nevada College and the University of Nevada, Reno. I completed 1200 hours of supervised practice and passed the national board exam to become a Registered Dietitian in 2014. I worked in the clinical setting and with families in early intervention for eight years before starting my own practice in 2021.

A Bit More About Me

I’m a happy wife and Mom to three little dragons. My oldest daughter is a cancer survivor. My youngest has been a challenge to feed. And my mid-kid son struggled with eczema, frequent tummy troubles, and chronic sinus issues until we took him through LEAP!

I’m also a dancer, skier, camper, explorer, and more. I love my family, beach days, cooking, yoga, surfing, traveling, planting things, epic dance parties, and so much more. My motto is “Love is Life,” and I live it with all my heart.

Please follow me on social media to learn more. I’m an open book and here to help you reach your nutritional and wellness goals.
